Locked out of hotpoint ultimate extra WMA63?

the machine was in cycle, but has stopped and wont continue
along with a flashing indicator light that resembles a keyhole

This sounds like the door lock, I had a simiollar problem, turn off machine then just lightly tap the right hand side of the front and it should release, also turn off machine then back on again and wait several minutes and it should then open.
