ive just fixed a tv with a similar sounding problem. in my case, the main switch had failed. this is the mains voltage switch which is the first place the mains cable visits inside the body of the tv. if your low voltage standby switch is NOT working (it will probably have a little lindicator light), and your priary fuses pass testing ok, then its defintaly the mains switch that has failed. this switch can be easily tested with a continuity tester (with the tv unplugged!). Further to testing with a meter, I also found that if i held the mains button 'in', the tv would work, therefor the switch-locking mechanism inside the body of theswitch has busted. Apparently this often happens as the switch is typicaly a cheap but high wear componant. also with un-relayed mains switching there is deterioration over time. i could have bypassed the switch, but decided to install a new switch. i used one which i had in the spareparts drawer rather than ordering an expensive replacement part. my switch was different obviously so i installed it on the rear of the machine next to the aerial socket. All wiring was redirected to it. the original failed switch remains on the frount panel of the tv and doesnt work. goodluck
