How can I fix my ipod video 30gb?

My ipod video 30gb freezes every now and then when I skip to a new song and I have to wait about 30 seconds or more for it to unfreeze and continue playing the next song. I have replaced the hard drive and battery, but nothing has changed.

hold select [middle one] and the left skip hold them both like for 10 seconds and the settings of uor ipod will appear so you can test everything that its on your ipod with out having to take it to the apple store..
