How do I connect my laptop to wireless broadband?

I have a compaq armada E500 laptop and a desktop. The
laptop has 516 memory 20g hard drive and 800 processor. The desktop is connected to wireless broadband via a local provider. I also have a PCMCIA wireless LAN card.
Can you please tell me what else I need to pick up the wireless signal for my laptop.
Many thanks.

Assuming your desktop is connected via Wireless, that is to say IEEE 802.11. When you have the PCMCIA card installed you need to know the SSID of the network (same as your desktop). What encryption is in use and the encryption key.

Put another way it need to be set up the same as your desktop's wireless adapter.
