How can I re-attach lead panel that has fallen off roof?

A five foot long lead panel has come off my porch roof. It should sit at the top of the roof above the door, this part of the roof is attached on to the outside wall of the house just above the front door, forming a small porch. The lead is undamaged, I have had a look at where it came from and there is a horizontal slot along the outside wall for it to fit into, however it doesn't look like it was ever attached properly. What's the best way to re-attach the panel so that it doesn't come off again?

make horizontal gap about 2in deep so that the lead tray can fit back in useing an angle grinder.slot lead tray back in .to hold the tray in place get some old lead ,cut into square plugs and jam it in the gap/chase till the lead tray is sollid.then fill gap/chase with cement or lead seal .

HORIZONTAL SLOT IS A CHASE FOR THE LEAD TO SIT IN.DEPENDING ON AGE WOULD GUESS IT WAS RETAINED BY FOLDED LEAD WEDGES .TO REFIT IS POSSIBLE FOR DIY USING SCREWS/RAWLPLUGS.BUT LEADMOVES CONSIDERABLY .SO 10MM HOLE THRU FLASHING.5-6MM SCREW THRU 25MM WASHER THRU FLASHING HOLE TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION. LEAD REINSERTED INTO CHASE.TAPED /WEDGED HOME.REPOINT LEAD/CHASE FLUSH.PROBABLY A COUPLE OF HOURS FROM A ROOFER.MIGHT TAKE U A DAY.ID PAY THE ROOFER IF IT WAS MINE.
