Kenmore series 70 washer. Will not aggitate or drain water?

Kenmore series 70 washer. Will not aggitate or drain water. Motor is running. Timer went through cycles but water was still in tub along with soapy water. Is this a belt? If so, is it easy to replace?

You will need a 285753 Washer Motor Coupler Coupling Assembly. Kenmore and Wirlpool washers share the same drive (at least this model), so look around for pricing. Sears sells it for about 15 bucks, but I found it online for 8 bucks.

Go to www.sears.com and look up parts for a model 227722101 washing machine. You can get an expanded drawing there too.

I have not replaced mine yet, so I don't know how hard it is to do. I don't think it will be too hard though.

Yes indeed, ite could be the belt and it could also be that the pulley for the drain pump has seized and thus needs replacement odf the entire mechanism. I'm currently in the proces of replacing the belt on mine and am in need of the procedure for that since i'm not able to remove the shaft in order to pull the mechanism out and re-locate the belt

Hello,

Need a model number to determine if your washer even has a belt.
If it does that would be a good place to start.
