i have just been given a COMPAQ INTEL INSIDE pentium 4 but needs a password to unlock it but do not no it can you HELP

Try using the password - Compaq
No luck - To erase the BIOS password follow these steps:
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power lead.
Find a jumper on the motherboard, 3 pins labelled something like CLR_PSWD1.
Move jumper from 2-3 to pins 1-2. (opposite pair).
Plug the power lead back in and turn ON the computer.
Hold down the F10 key during the startup process to enter the BIOS setup to change or clear the password.
After changing or clearing the BIOS password, remember to reset the jumper to pins 2-3.

I have no intention telling people on an open forum how to unlock computers. I hope that no one else will post a solution either.

Whereas I am sure that this one is not stolen, many are, and helping the OP would also help thieves.

Take it to a computer shop with proof of ownership and ID and they MAY be able to unlock it for you.
