Any ideas please on what the fault might be and how to fix it:- Flooding, something rattling inside, hard grey material coming out and seems that some of this may be caught outside the drum. The washing machine is a Zanussi FJS 1397W.

sounds like your bearings have gone.put you fingers between the front door rubber and the stainless inner drum and lift it upwards.if there is any lift then the bearings have collapsed and the grey material will be the front tub cut through by the inner drum.cost wise it will probably be best to buy a new one
