My washing machine will not spin at the end of any of the wash cycles. However if you turn the dial to spin and start it, it spins fine?

Occaisionally on some cyles it just stops full of water -again empties and spins OK if you select spin.

No not checked filter,the washing works great it's just the knob sticks so I have to turn it manually.

The knob sticks so I have to keep turning it round manually,the washer goes through its cycle ok but it's just the knob wont turn only if I keep moving it on one my self.

suspect the prob maybe the result of the washing landing awarkly b4 the spin cycle,zanussi have a balance sensor which can 1.reduce spin speed 2.abort the spin altogether if the machine senses an out of balance load,normally associated with heavy items ie towels, dressing gowns or small loads like say that woolly jumper you can only handwash in the sink and then spin on its own.suggest you actually put more in it!you can prove this by putting the machine on empty and spinning it because it will be perfectly balanced and therefore should spin,if then and only then it will not spin it will be a motor/pcb fault. expensive on zannusi.
