Kenmore 80 series?

Hi,

I have a Kenmore 80 Series Washer Model 110. Stopped in cycle and wouldn't drain. Tried suggests on Washer (check plug, fuse, turn past off, try just spin cycle to drain). At this point the washer would do nothing. Manually drained (bottom drain) by bringing hose down into bucket. Tried to cycle again. Machine filled with water (whereas it wouldn't do anything before I drained it) in perm press cycle but once water stopped would not do anything else. Timer dial continued to move and eventually turned itself off but machine neither engaged the agitator nor drained.

Ideas? Thanks!

had same problem, found baby doll pants stuck in drain pump which was locking up motor. romoved pants works fine.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I have had this Kenmore 80 for four years, it was the third load of the day when it happened all of sudden. I did exactly the same things you did trying to troubleshoot this thing.

Looking for an answer as well before calling Sears.

it could be the switch that stops the machine when the lid is lifted up
