I am not an expert. I just sent this same suggestion to someone else. I was told to turn the TV "ON" from the front of the set. (With no picture) Press the reset button on your original remote and while holding it down press the on button again. I was told that if this didn't work, it would need to be seen by a repairman. It did not work for me but mine flashed nonstop and not 7 times with the 2 sec delay. I hope this works for you.
