power adaptor blew up?

mikomi 15in lcd tv. turned on tv and heard a bang. it seems the sealed power adaptor has blew and i need help to sort it. large shops tell me a sealed unit can't be fixed. don't know of any other places to buy a new adaptor.

First of all for a power adapter to blow up it must have had a major (and dangerous) fault. If it was me, I would take it back to Argos (Mikomi is an Argos Own Brand) and demand that they replace or refund forthwith or I would trake them to Trading Standards.

As evidence that you should get a refund. Which say that TVs should last for six years or they MUST have had a manufacturing defect when new and therefore under the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 Argos must fix your problem.
