replace a 2 way Electric switch?

Hi,

I just want to replace an existing 2 way switch in a lighting circuit.

The old switch has annotations for C, L1, L2.

The new switch has L , Sw and squiggle that looks like intertwined wires.

How do the annotations corrrelate?

Thanks

The common or the one marked L should be on one end of switch with the other two the carrier wires to the other switch opposite each other. The L terminal will be hot unless you de-energize the circuit. RECOMMENDED
