brother 940 electronic?

I set my machine up to patternas per inst. It knits 4 rows then the row number stops flashing and it doesn't pattern anymore just leaves loops or holes(lace). Sometimes it will start again a few rows later. Could this be battery problem?????????

heres the answer to my question. hubby took the top of the machine and found that the right sensor was floating around. Screwed it back into place and everything works fine again. Don't be afraid to try process of ilimanation yourself i did and found the problem
