Clanking Water Pipes Following Removal Of Hot/Cold Fill Washing Machine?

We recently replaced a hot and cold fill washing machine with a cold fill model only. From the day we removed the hot/cold fill machine, our water pipes have made a terrible clanking noise when turned on and then off.. The noise also occurs when the washing machine is filling up.
We capped off the hot water pipe that used to serve the old machine. The noise is obviously related to the removal of the old machine but we cannot stop the clanking. Any ideas gratefully received.

You have some air left at the top of the old warm fill pipe, or a dead leg of water in there. Remove the pipe totally rather than capping it off should sort the problem.

Already tried this and only made a slight difference but didn't solve the problem.

Try turning down your mains water feed (usally under the kitchen sink) by half a turn at a time. Sounds like it could be the water pressure making the pipes bang. I had the same problem myself and it solved it for me.
