my sockets have lost power how can I fix them?

Two single plug sokets in my kitchen have stopped working, the sockets are along from each other. There were appliances (dishwasher & fridge) plugged in and turned on at both sockets. Nothing has tripped on main circuit board, and all the other downstairs plugs are still working. What should I be looking for?

Single sockets for below worktop appliances are often controlled by a separate switch above the worktop. This switch may also have a fuse in it. Look to see if any switches are turned off, and if not check to see if there is a fuse and if it has blown.
