how can i fix the letter A on my keyboard?

how can i fix the letter A on my keyboard while dusting my keyboard i caught the A button which has made it loose and not sit right. it also does not type the letter without a hard press of the finger. can it be replaced or do i replace the whole keyboard and is it a job i could do myself. thanks its a dell inspiron 1525

oh thats what happened to me. every once in a while, the button needs to be cracked. you just push down really hard all around t, and you can hear it kind of cracking. thats it, just tight button.

useually you can pop keyboard keys out with a pair of pliers(ideal) or something lever like. try re-inserting the key, if theis works then thats ok.

If this does not work then the key is broken, you will need to buy another keyboard. or if you are a bleeding heart fixer-upper take another key that are not commonly used (like scroll lock or pause/break) winkle it out again and stuff it in the A space, then take a marker pen and write a capital A on it.

i would go for the latter, as it will give your keyboard more character!

You can strip the keyboard down by removing the screws at the back, but there are lots of little parts inside so be carefull. Ideal if you drop a paper clip in and can not shake it out. New keyboards are so cheap, about £5, I suggest getting a new one.
