How can I rename a device which has been given a number hash (#2)?

I have a webcam which has been configured by windows as "Logitech Quickcam Express #2" I only have one!

It works perfectly, but it is untidy. I'd like to change the device's name.

If you uninstall the device's driver (and so the device, as far as windows in concerned) and reboot, Windows may well reinstall the device for you. It will probably give it its correct name.
