I have 8 inset ceiling lights in the kitchen - 2 of them do not work. I have checked the bulbs and they still don't even with new bulbs in. Can anyone tell what else to check?

U will have to remove the lights from the ceiling .
If they are the last 2 lights in the circuit then a loose connection would cause 2 to fail but leave the others working normally.
You may have loose connections in both so check all connections . if they are 12volt lights then they may both be on the same transformer which has failed ,,replace it if this is the case
