how can i fix my toshiba v642uk?

I had a power cut and now my video will not work.I was told to re-enter the NVM data but for some reason it just won't have it. Please help

I get the TEST on the LCD after holding the A.DUB button but I only get the standard MENU on TV screen when holding the MENU button when TEST appears. I can't get the NVRAM screen up to enter the numbers. Any help appreciated. I am not a technician so if I have to open the box I won't know where to look.

0) connect vcr to (pal) tv, switch tv to AV. Video signal may be very
bad until you reach option setting menu: don't worry!.

1)Turn the unit on. Press the eject button on the front panel until TEST appears in the
display. ;) Well, if keyboard config is lost, eject doesn't work, but you can press and hold the A.DUB button on remote for over 20 seconds, ignoring all error messages.

2) While TEST is still displayed on the LED display press and hold the
MENU button on the remote for about 5 seconds. The option setting display will appear on screen. ;) Well, if display config is lost you can see anything on led display; anyway after 21 seconds A.DUB and 6 seconds MENU you should ever get option setting menu on tv screen.

3) Set the option number (above) of the corresponding model with the cursor buttons on the remote (follow on screen messages).

Sorry I can't help with the exact code but if you experiment you should get it working. I've gone with these options but i'm not sure they are correct 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,23,24,25,26,29,33,39,40,41,45,48,49,50,52,53,60,61,62,63,72

You may need to do this too to align heads as I had banding on playback:

1) Playback a good pre-recorded tape (an alignment tape is ideal, but
a pre-rec will do)
2) press and hold the A.DUB button on remote for over 20 seconds,and hold until TEST is displayed on the machine.
3) At the same time press SP/LP on the remote.
Head switching will now auto-adjust
4) Turn off the power.
