How do you fill in the slot where the centre board goes?

I have a small 7ft sailing dinghy and i want to take the centre board out to make more room.

How do i seal the slot.

Cut a slot in the hull and make a casing at least half as high is the gunwales the cut a piece of plywood as your centreboard te tou can slide it in or out as you want.
If that takes up too much space then make two side keels on either side of the hull and secure then in place to a fixture on the hull with screws so you can take them off for transporting.

If you remove the centre board what kind of keel are you going to replace it with? Remember that it stops the boat from sliding across the water as you are making sailing manouevres. If I was going to do it I would probably cut it as short as possible near the floor and fill what remains with a tiny dummy "centre board" glued in with epoxy glue and flushed off on the bottom of the boat.
