How can I patch a large piece of carpet?

I have a medium size area that is full of burns, I have a piece large enough from the original carpet. I am just not sure how to cut it and lay the piece to where it will look good and stay down. The piece that needs replaced is not next to the wall. Helpless Female

if you have a closet you could use this to replace the bad carpet. Since carpet runs in a direction be sure not to turn it as the nap must remain the same direction. you can find a self stick tape to use for the main repair

my advice to you is to replace it , it is hard to cut and to fit in " and once you start you cant go back , even if its a plain carpet, i know it means new carpet, but when you start cutting , everything has to be in line , and thats only half of the job , mick
