how do you stop damp patch showing thru a ceiling i have tried a blocking spray and two coats of emulsion and it still shows slightly, any old tricks of the trade would be greatly appreciated.

Hi you obviously have a nasty water stain that keeps coming back no mater what you put on it ,ok! what you need to do is to buy some P.V.A. sealer you can get it from any builders merchant , then paint it all over the damp patch at least twice , let it dry completely then emultion it again the staines should not come through hope this helps
