mt curtain pole keeps falling down. what fixings should i use. the wraw plu?

is there any fixing i can get that is less than 1 inch deep. i have put up my pole 6 times now and made a right mess of the wall. it keeps falling down. the raw plugs with the fixing kit are too deep for my wall.. Any suggestions please?

Hi.

We have a similar problem and the best solution is to firstly fix a 2"x1" length of wood cut to the length of your curtain pole. Use no more nails to fix this to the wall, let it dry and then drill holes for curtain rail into the wood. We've learned the hard way and this is the only durable solution.

too deep for your wall?I'd have my doubts about that.What sounds more likely is your not drilling the hole deep enough.I'd guess your trying to fit rawlplugs, which are expanding ,into plaster.Small wonder your rail keeps falling down.If any thing the plugs need to be longer(red or brown) and longer screws to hold it.Rawlplugs are for fastening into brick/stone,or concrete,not plaster.
