Hotpoint DF52?

I have a Hotpoint DF52 dishwasher, that sticks at various points during the cycle, usually when the water is due to feed in. I have already changed the timer - HPT1801335. Nothing other than tipping the whole machine about 45 degrees to either side will get it to continue the wash cycle!

Do you have any ideas what the fault could be?

air (or very low pressure) in the water inlet pipe - honestly! We had this problem with ours several times. Once was after one of the inlet hoses had to be replaced. The trick was to ensure the hose is primed and full to the brim with waterbefore screwing it on. The other times were following water main work / pressure failure when air accumulated in the inlet hose. Same treatment as above got it working again.
