Creative Zen Player screen shows white?

My creative zen player's screen only shows white. As a result I can not see a thing. Sometimes when I try to turn the player on and off constantly the visuals will finally appear however the situation has gotten worst and the screen is forever white

I installed the firmware downgrade and the screen went all black. I then ran the recovery software and it loaded the latest firmware again and now it works fine.

I have an 8 GB Zen and have had it for a couple of years. Every once in a while I would get the white screen but after a recharge over night it would re-boot. The problem got worse & worse. Sometimes it would reset using the pin hole. Now nothing will re-boot it. After I read Mikee's comment I put my Zen in the freezer for 30 minutes. To my suprise it re-booted. This can't be good on the player. After it warmed up it was back to white screen again. At least I was able to set it on shuffle so I can listen to music. A new player is in the future and it will not be a Zen. To bad, I really liked it. Any ideas??

The Creative Zen white screen is caused by loose connections of the LCD contacts inside the player. I gently squeezed mine around the edges of the screen (oaky...I squeezed on the screen, too, but very carefully so as not to break it) and it has been working perfectly since then...that was a couple of days ago.

I think i found that with my Zen, when i drive my bike i have it on in my pocket so i can listen to music, and i leave my house with a white screen, then put it on hold in my pocket and when i get to work 25mins later after it getting really cold the screen works fine, well i did that for a couple of months but not its just stuck on the white screen lol might give up and buy an ipod hehe

After one year of troublefree use, my 8Gb Zen got the white screen problem. I have tried all the solutions/workarunds I have been able to find on the net, including upgrading (and downgrading) firmware for about 20 times. Two days ago I gave up, and put the Zen in my car, to go to the dealer next day. When arriving dealer, the Zen was OK. I took it home same evening, and then I had the white screen. Also Yesterday evening I put the Zen in my car, but before going to the dealer this morning, I checked it - and it was functioning. Later today I got white screen again.
Then I got an idea - it might be OK after staying in car over night, because of low temperature (I live in Norway, and at my home place it has been about -10°C the last two nights). So put the Zen in the re´frigerator for two hours, and I got normal screen until the Zen was warm again. After one year of troublefree use, my 8Gb Zen got the white screen problem. This make me think the problem is a hardware and not a software problem.

When you turned of your player while it was playing a song, turning it back on will result in replaying this song after startup. Even if the startup resulted in a white screen. Just be patient. Once you hear the music playing, you can lock the player. Once locked you can unlock it and the view will be restored.
Another solution I've found (but haven't tested myself) is downgrading the firmware. See http://www.fixya.com/support/t1141141-white_screen_death_zen
