what model valiant is it ? some older types have a simple silver metal hose beneath called a filling loop, and you have to open one or two small black plastic taps (one either end) of this hose, ( if no taps, could be screwdriver slots) and you will hear water coming into boiler. when your pressure reaches number one (bar) on boiler gauge, turn them off and it should work. if you dont have a silver hose, there will be a small plastic knob underneath the boiler behind a cover. if you have the boiler manual, it will tell you in there. if not sure, call a corgi plumber to look at it as you probably have a central heating leak somewhere (radiator? safety valve? expansion vessel?) to cause pressure loss in the first place.

You will have a small flexi pipe underneath the boiler connected to the cold water feed and it will link to the heating pipe.
There will be a small thumb size tap on the pipe, turn it on to put water into the system and once its reached about 1.5 bar turn it off, you might need to reset the boiler by turning it off and on again
Do not over pressure the system it can pop pipe joints etc.
