Hi I have a sigma tel audio mic. All the latest driver/codec etc iv downloaded are working for it. I used the mic a few days ago , everything was fine then today no joy! No sound recording is possible. Iv checked all the leads they are fine, the device manager says theres no prob. I have tried both ports, the pink one @ the back of my pc and the normal mic port @ the front , stil no joy. Iv tried everything in the troubleshooter as well. I have a dell 5100 dimension, my os is XP. Any help much appreciated, tyvm Daz

Hi Daz,
I had exactly the same problem.
I recently used DriverMax to update all my drivers unfortunately the SigmaTel update stopped my mic working on the rear input socket.
I even tried rolling back the drivers.
I went to the Dell site put in my tag code and went to the drivers section. Listed was an update for the SigmaTel which I downloaded and installed. It asked if I wanted to overwrite the existing .exe when it was unzipping, I said yes. I then installed the new drivers.
Mic worked straight away on the rear socket.
