Sorry, I do not actually have an answer but I too have the same problem, when I power the unit up ON is displayed in the LCD window for about 2 seconds then this changes to WAIT followed by three flashing bars. Although the Recorder picks up the correct Input on the television no installation menu comes up, there is just a blue screen. I can do nothing with any of the buttons on the remote or the unit itself except switch it off. HELP!
