Most digital cameras cannot be repaired by end users such as you or me. Best bet is take it to Jessops (or similar top quality high street camera dealer) and give them £25 (refundable upon successful repair) to send off and see it is worth fixing. Be prepared for a long wait, but if it can get fixed at reasonable cost it is worth it.
