SABRE HE Boiler - Red light lockout?

Our boiler has been working fine until now but has started to lockout - a permanent red light appears on the status LED. We can get the boiler started again by switching off then on but after 30 mins-1hour it seizes up again. The pressure gauge is within the manufacturers recommended levels. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this?

I have a sabre 24 boiler which has run problem free for 4 years. Recently it has started to show a red light after 2 hours running. The heating or hot water does not work when the red light is on.The problem is fixed by resetting but always comes back. Boiler has not been serviced but is this the problem ?

Hi, I believe Ross and I have exactly the same problem. THe sequence of events are as follows.

1. I switch to Central heating and hotwater in combination after about thirty minutes it locks out. Sometimes it locks out earlier when i turn on the hotwater tap.

But sometimes there is no hot water at all for about 15 minutes.
Or there is hotwater for about 20 secs then the taps run cold

2. I Switch to hotwater only, the green light flashes but there is no hot water

I have a sabra 28He (Vokera with adiffernt badge). I have now been told that it could be either the thermistor which needs replacing o the venturi(whatever that is)

The pressure is fine.

Any Comments will be apppreciated.

Ross- a further note - when the system is reset, and the ignition kicks in, I can see the flame inside the boiler, obviously heating water. After about 10 mins, the flame stops but the roaring sound I described earlier keeps going. Is this normal?

Hi Ross - thanks for getting back. The boiler locks out when the radiators are on - interestingly the system seems to be locking out sooner now that I have increased the temperature dial of the radiators. When I reset it, there is the usual roar as the boiler starts to work (not sure if that's the fan?). About a minute later the ignition comes on and the radiators start getting warm. Another thing I've noticed is that whereas when the boiler was working fine, hot water would be delivered to taps very quickly. Now, it's taking approx. 3 mins or so. Does that help? Thanks
