Kenmore series 80 Model 110 24812200?

Hi my wifes machine will do six loads of wash fine and then on the 7th load it won't spin out the clothes. Tried varying the load tried waiting time to let machine cool down thinking it was an overheated motor N.G. Some loads work fine then the machine comes to an abrupt halt and the clothes are wet.
I called a reputable repair guy (independent) and he could not recreate the problem ran 3 loads with no proplem. He told me that my discharge line was kinda long and narrow. So I called a plummer and we installed a much shorter and bigger discharge line. Still no good although the clothes are not as wet as they used to be when the machine doesnt spin out.
Ive read alot about the lid switch being defective although I dont see my model number being reported any ideas ?
Thanks sorry for the long post

I am in need of removing the wash cycle knob however the knob will not slide off as the other knobs do. I assume there's a lock device or trick. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

If your washer comes to an abrubt halt after it washes, I would definately suspect the lid switch or the lid switch mechanism. The washer will not drain or spin if the lid switch is faulty. This is a very common problem with these machines.
