glow-worm compact 100e pressure drop?

I have a glow-worm compact 100e boiler which i have a problem with. I have a regular loss of pressure which i presume is a slight leak on the system, the problem is that when the system pressure is at the normal level i.e. 1-1.5 bar and the heating comes on the pressure increases to 4-5 bar? (the safety valve is not working correctly buts thats another problem). I would have thought that if the system is running at that pressure it would lose pressure at a greater speed but it seems to be ok until the heting demand goes off then it seems to lose all pressure? any ideas?

Hi, i am having the same problem but i know where the valve you are looking for is...its to the rear of the 100E...you need to remove the left side cover off the boiler...(control panel, burner cover/window need to be moved first), and you will see a large red plate size tank with a bike tire like valve on the top left...Pump this up to 11.6 psi, you will have to slightly over pressurize it as when you take the valve off you will lose some pressure....i have done all this but have no hot water and low heating so i think i need a PCB.....NICE.....
Hope that helped you....

Neil,

I have exactly the same problem. I've been told there is a value on top of the boiler that you need to use to pump air into the boiler to pressurise it. Not by just readding the water via the taps. Only problem is that I haven't found out how to do this yet!!
