Indesit WA155 Starts but Dial spins constantly whilst discharge pump runs?

Indesit WA155 Starts but then the Dial spins constantly whilst discharge pump runs

When starting a new washing program it starts to fill, rotates continues to fill as per normal but then is starts emptying, the pump goes constantly and the dial starts clicking round endlessly. If left it carries on in this state, pump going, dial turning.

I've tried spinning the dial round lots, turning it on and off, it still does the same thing.
I've also tried to start it at the end of each of the program cycles then turning it off with button as the light flashes repeatedly very quickly (supposed to reset it?? Found that tip on the web) None of this has helped, it just starts as normal again before doing the same trick.

Can anyone tell me what it might be? Should I try and replace the dial (it's £20) or is it likely to be one of the sensors playing up causing it to do this.

Any help appreciated.

had same problem more or less, removed the foot-long thin black hose that runs down the side of the drum, connecting to the pressure switch. It had been rubbing on the drum and was worn through. Will try replacing it tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem!

I had the very same problem but like you I fixed it, it would fill too high and leak out the door. The tube had rubbed on the drum wearing it through. It's still playing up, no idea what's wrong with it this time.

Sorry, forgot to say, perhaps your pressure hose is blocked, thereby making the machine 'think' it is constantly full of water.

I had a similar problem. My machine started to fill with water, but never 'moved on' - i.e. the drum remained static and the machine kept filling with water. If I tried to 'nudge' the dial onto the next setting - e.g. rinse, the dial would start turning round constantly.

I opened up the machine and found that the 'pressure tube' was leaking. This tube is responsible for 'telling' the machine how much water is in the drum. Unless it is air/water tight, then the machine is fooled into thinking that there is no water at all in the machine.

I removed the cable and took it to a second hand washing machine shop near my home. They sold me a new one for a fiver. I fitted this and the machine works perfectly.
