Can anybody advise on minimum overhang needed
for an inset fire being installed into a marble back
panel surround. The existing cutout hole is 440 mm and the internal width of the fire is 330mm. The external width of the fire is 475mm so 17.5mm is
the overhang each side which I think, if it is
properly sealed is enough??

as long as the fire can be sealed to the back panel there shouldnt be any issues.

make sure back panel is sealed to builders opening too, many do not.
