When ever my computer gets to slowing down and programs that clean up files ect don`t seem to work I just format my hd but have been told this damages the hd ,,,,,,,,,,,is there any truth to this
No it doesn't cause any damage to your hard drive. The person who told you was talking drivel. However I NEVER format mine, I fix the underlying problems that develope over time.
