Disc region incorrect Philips DVP3146k?

we've had this player for a few months now and suddenly it won't recognise any discs, including ones we own and have played on the DVD player countless times before.
everytime we put in a dics it says disc region incorrect.
please help!

I have the very same problem with my Phlips DVP3140. After some months it stoped working showing the incorrect region message.
