Have a Sanaui San1001 DVD/VCR Combo. Power on for 10 seconds cuts out?

I have a Sansui San1001 DVD/VCR Combo. When I switch the power on it stays on for about 10 seconds then an error message comes on the screen ER:03.

It plays VCRs ok but not the DVDs. Can anyone help?

I have the same problem, I have uplugged the DVD player from its control board and still get the same error.
