How can I fix my portable polaroid dvd player?

When I turn on my portable polaroid dvd player,model number pdv-0701a,the screen just comes up white and it wont do anything else.What is wrong with it and how can I fix it?

Have you tried the AV in/out switch? I think this is the same thing that my son's did when he had the switch in the "in" position. Hope this helps.
