You do not have to remove the front panel. Either remove the door seal by unhooking the little white tab at the top of the door opening and unhooking the retaing wire, or leave the seal in place and hold your hand over the rear of the hinge (through the seal)this will stop the inner hinge plate from dropping while you unscrew the old hing and refit the new one.
