Is it easy to replace a water pump on a washing machine?

I have a Kenmore 70 Series Model 110.82673110 washing machine. The water pump is leaking. Is this an easy task? If so, what steps do I take to get to the water pump to remove it?

Yes!

I actually just finished repairing the water pump on my machine and was looking to find additional information about it online to make sure I did it right...

Turn off the water and unplug the machine.

Open the front of the case. There are usually a few screws on the bottom and the front panel will simply pull off.

Locate the water pump. For me, it was attached below the motor and connected with a belt to the tub.

Remove the pump. There will be some screws, perhaps tension springs and pulleys to sort through. If you are slightly mechanical, it will be a simple task. Be careful, because the hoses will still contain water. Get some rags and a bucket handy to catch the spillage. Water WILL go all over the place. I propped the machine up on some wood blocks, mopped and used a fan to dry the area.

Order the part(s), wait... it took about a month for me to get my pump, but it was because of mistakes caused by the supplier.

Install in reverse order and test it out. The installation process took me all of 15 minutes. As soon as I click "submit", I'm gonna go wash a load. :)
