Only one radiator not working?

Hi

This is puzzling me! My hot water system works fine no system problems at all.

Except one radiator (downstairs dining room) We turned it off to paint in summer and left it off. Now turned it on and it will not heat up. Have bled the entire system no air causing problem all other radiators working fine.

the pipes that come out of the wall and enters the radiator are also staying cold which to me indicates that no hot water is being fed to the radiator.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this? and how to rectify it?

I have a similar problem, and followed this advice to the point where I pulled up the pin with pliers. It came right out and now it won't go back in far enough to screw on the control. Any advice?

If the cold radiator is the last in the system it may be that all the heat has been used up by the other rads.

I have discovered that rads need to be balanced by adjusting each in and out temperature to a fall of 11 deg C by fully opening the inlet and progressively closing the outlet to restrict the flow - starting with the first.

You can check for this by turning off all the other rads and seeing if the cold one warms up.

If you have a TRV on your cold radiator the control pin may be stuck down - this is very common - take the top control off and gently pull the central pin up with pliers.
