When the memory card is in the sat nav, it is showing a picture on the screen of the card with a cross through it, if we take the card out, the picture shows that we need to insert the card. It appears that there is no longer any info on the card - it worked perfectly until yesterday. Don't know if this will have anything to do with it but i put the sat nav on top of my handbag which has a megnetic fastner?

I've just made a very strange discovery. I checked my receipt for the Tom Tom, and found that it packed up precisely ( within 1 hour) of three years after I got it home from the shop and switched it on for the first time.
Weird, don't you think?
Is there a three year limit in the software?

I know how you feel. Your description exactly fits what happened to me a couple of days ago. I've been on the Tom Tom website, and plugged in via the USB, to get new maps downloadeed, but my Tom Tom refuses to communicate with the PC so I seem to be stuffed for the minute. I have now sent a message to the Tom Tom website asking for their help. I will let you know if I get any joy.
