when my boiler fires up just recently it makes a loud noise as though alot of gas is being ignited everything still works fine. called an engineer out he's coming tuesday just wondering what it was so that he doesn't convince me into new boiler if it can be fixed boiler is a potterton

I had that problem with my boiler and a engineer came out and said it's not a major problem, just air getting trapped in the pipes which is causing the boiler to make a banging noise.
