please tell me how three way light switch wiring should be done?

I have a two way light switch connected to two other single light switches and three lights which i forgot to make a picture of when i dismantled it. i now am having trouble getting all three switches to work correctly with the three lights.

I"m a certified electrician. Ill tell you just how to wire a 3way switch.I just hope you can understand. O.K. here we go.The first thing you want to do is decide which side you want your switchleg side on and what side you want your power at.you want to take your power to the switch closes to where your getting power from. That would be a black white and a green. The other switch is your switchleg side, take a red white and green to your light. Now from any switch you want take two blues a white and a green to the other switch. Those wires you just pulled are called your travelers. Now on a three way switch you have three screws.Your dark screw, your common(your hot from the breaker) Your traveler screws the gold ones, connect the two blues to your gold screws. Now just to make sure. The switchleg side, the red, white, and green go to your light. congradulations!! you just wired up a 3-way switch.

there is always a danger with this sort of thing being over complicated..... go to your next door neighbour and ask him of you can have a look behind the switch plate of his staircase light. his should be wired exactly the same as your should be if his house is the same as yours......

This is easy to wire, however I need to email you a diagram of how it works.

I`m no elec but the safe way to find out how this circuit would work is to use a battery torch, take out the globe use the battery (D size) as the power & the globe as the light, lay the switches out on the floor & connect the wires in differant ways to find the right circuit you want. AT NO TIME CONNECT THIS TO A 240V SUPPLY ONLY GET POWER FROM A D-SIZE BATTERY! The low volts will still run & power through any switch.
