my light bulb has broke and half of it is still screwed into the socket?

when changing my light bulb, I was unscrewing it and it broke leaving the bottom part still in the fitting and the bulb in my hand - how do i resolve this as I am now using candles to light my pad.

cut a potatoe in half and screw it into the broken light bulb,it should come out quite easily.

Make sure switch is in off position, use a pair of pliers to grip bayonet fitting that is stuck in light socket, push upwards and turn anti-clockwise this should then pull out.

Good luck

With the power off push a piece of soft(ish) wood against the remnant of the bulb (the metal of the bulb's base will bite into it) and turn it anti (counter) clockwise.
