Halstead Quattro - Fires up, but no HW?

Hi. I know there are similar posts on here, but not exactly the same. Okay, this is the problem - even with the CH set to off, turning on the hot tap fires up the boiler immediately (so according to one of the posts this rules out the diaphram) but does not deliver hot water. CH is working fine. Any ideas please - couple of days before Xmas and relatives coming. Any help very much appreciated. Jerry

Hi thanks for your reply. No - the boiler stays fired up as long as the tap stays on - making me wonder where the hot water is actually going! The water gets a little warmer for just a few moments before going stone cold. Even when the heating is on it's the same story. My first thoughts were that its a problem with the diverter valve - but the water's not getting 'diverted' if the heating is off right? Or is that not how it works? Thanks in advance for any help - am getting quite desparate!

hi when you turn on the hot tap and you gey no hot water does the boiler still fire or does it keep cuting out.if so hot water heat exchanger could be blocked up.try turning tape on at a very low flow rate,if it gets hot its pointing to the heat exchanger
