newly changed washer belt, now spins dangerously fast ?

I change my washer belt, and it now it seems like it spins twice as fast like a jet engine is ready to take off and can even be heard upstairs.

I wrapped the belt around the inside of the center idler pully and maybe I was not supposed to do that, henced i increased the revolution per minute.

any thoughts?

You've got a result.

Higher spin speed must mean quicker drying which must mean less electricity.

Good on ya' sport.
