Is it possible to repair an electric fire?

Our electric fire is about 4 years old (Berry 2KW fan heater with flame effect) The heat output has suddenly reduced itself and the fire is no longer heating our room properly I can't seem to find anyone locally who can repair it. (Looked in yellow pages and domestic appliance repairs don't seem to include fires) Is it best to forget about repair and buy new or are there still people around who will repair electric fires?

Thank you, Tara. :)

just get a local electrician. My electric fires heat output went down after expiry of guarantee. I spent ages contacting dimplex etc. But my local electric fixed it in no time, though had to wait a week for the part. Just look in Thompson for a local electrician (rather than "repairer of electric appliances".
