Our playstation 2 -- slimline has stopped spinning the discs. Does anyone know how to fix this or do we need to take it somewhere? Not sure if it was dropped by the kids or not.
not bad motor some discs spin and load others such as guitar hero 3 won't spin and obviously can't load. does the laser read the disc before it spins? how does it sense when disc has been inserted and prompt motor to spin?

The motor that spins the game is dead - I think. Take it to a repair shop. I will cost ya, and it requires special tools, skills and parts to repair. Don't attempt it yourself.
